The Sensuous Senator | Show 1
An American Farce by: Michael Parker
Audition Dates: August 22 & 23, 2016 (4 Men / 5 Women)
Production Dates: October 8th – 23rd, 2016
Senator Harry Douglas is running for the Presidency on a strong Morality Platform, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying the occasional extra-marital flirtation. When his wife leaves to attend a conference in Chicago, Harry invites his secretary over for some under-cover work, but she’s busy (hopefully brushing up on her secretarial skills…since she can’t type!). So Harry calls a professional escort service for an afternoon appointment. But when his wife’s plane is snowbound and his secretary decides to cancel her plans and surprise him, suddenly Harry’s townhouse is teeming with scantily clad ladies, a fellow Conservative who drops by unexpectedly, a suspicious policeman, and worst of all, a nosey reporter from THE NATIONAL INTRUDER! One critic noted that “the audience barely had time to catch a breath between laughs in this rollicking bedroom farce!”
The Odd Couple | Show 3
A Comedy by: Neil Simon
Audition Dates: December 5 & 6, 2016 (6 Men / 2 Women)
Production Dates: February 4th - 19th, 2017
When Neil Simon’s brother Danny was a young writer in New York, he shared an apartment with a newly divorced friend. One night, while watching his brother and the ill-matched roommate exchanging sarcastic barbs, Neil thought to himself: “This is funnier than a play!” This thought inspired THE ODD COUPLE, a play about two friends with such contrary personalities that simple co-existence becomes a daily ordeal. Felix Ungar is a neat-freak who manages to find a fault in everything. Oscar Madison (on the other hand) is an unrepentant slob who takes great pleasure in life! Their unlikely friendship has become one of the iconic relationships in American comedy. Why? Because THE ODD COUPLE is quite simply one of the funniest plays ever written! As the NY DAILY NEWS wrote, “It is wildly, irresistibly, incredibly and continuously funny!”
Once Upon A Mattress | Show 4
A Musical Comedy by: Mary Rodgers & Marshall Barer
Audition Dates: Dec. 7 and 8, 2016 (12 Men / 12 Women)
Production Dates: March 25th – April 9th, 2017
ONCE UPON A MATTRESS is the deliciously light- hearted musical comedy that catapulted Carol Burnett to stardom as Princess Winnifred the Woebegone (or “Fred” to her friends). This merry, musical retelling of the story of “The Princess and the Pea” is set in the castle of King Sextimus and Queen Aggravain. Their son (Prince Dauntless) has reached the age when he should marry, but his mother (convinced that no girl is worthy of her son) has prepared a battery of tests that no ordinary girl could pass. Happily, Fred is not an ordinary girl. She is a spirited tomboy who is more than willing to battle Queen Aggravain for her son. Some of the songs in the show include “(I’m) Shy,” “In a Little While,” “Sensitivity,” and Fred’s nostalgic tribute to her beloved homeland (“The Swamps of Home”). Give us a call and come see some live theatre shows in Delray Beach, FL.
Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike | Show 5
A Comedy by: Christopher Durang
Audition Dates: February 27 & 28, 2017 (2 Men / 4 Women) @ 7:30PM
Production Dates: May 20th – June 4th, 2017
Christopher Durang’s hilarious family comedy tells the story of three self-absorbed middle-aged siblings. Ma- sha is a successful film actress, who (at 50) is no longer being offered the sexy roles that made her famous. Her sister and brother continue to live in the family home in Bucks County, supported through the years by Masha’s lucrative film career. Her income dwindling, Masha has been advised to sell the family home; but for her siblings, this would be a life-altering catastrophe. A potential family tragedy quickly turns comic when we begin to realize how utterly clueless each sibling is about the effect of their actions on others, in- cluding the family housekeeper (a voodoo priestess) and Masha’s hyper-sexual “boy-toy” named Spike. To no one’s surprise, this comic tour-de-force won the 2013 Tony Award as “THE BEST PLAY OF THE YEAR!” Call today for theatre tickets.
