Barefoot In The Park

A Comedy by Neil Simon

Show 5 | May 23rd – June 7th, 2015

Neil Simon’s second Broadway hit is just as funny, endearing and surprising as it was when it first opened in 1964. Thanks to his 1996 autobiography, REWRITES, we know now that virtually every element in this delightful comedy was drawn from the real-life experiences of the newly-married Neil Simon and his first wife (Joan) as they moved into their first apartment. Two young newly-weds (Paul and Corie) move into a tiny apartment that Corie has picked out. To Paul’s dismay, the tiny apartment is at the top of a six-floor walk-up with no elevator. As Paul tries to launch his career as a lawyer, Corie tries to turn their miniscule apartment into a home. Their separate trajectories collide (hilariously) when she invites her mother and a mysterious neighbor to their first dinner party!
