John Lennon, a troubled musical prodigy from working class Liverpool, rode the dizzying ascension of the Beatles to international stardom, and became one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters of the 20th century. Along the way, Lennon evolved from bullying boyfriend to a more emotionally mature adult, a transformation reflected in his lyrics. His peace activism got him pursued by the U.S. government. You’ll hear your favorite Lennon songs, including Beatles hits such as “If I Fell” and “Norwegian Wood” and later solos like “Woman” and “Imagine.”

In this powerful presentation, commentary, slides and live music are presented by Joan Friedenberg and Bill Bowen, who sing professionally as the PinkSlip Duo, while the lyrics are projected on a screen for audience sing along. Emotionally stirring music and intellectually stimulating narration and photography combine to make for a unique and unforgettable experience.
