Whatever your age, there is a good chance that the first musical you ever enjoyed was an animated musical film by Walt Disney. Older theatre-goers were mesmerized by films like SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS and PINOCCHIO. Younger theatre-goers have grown up watching films like THE LION KING, THE LITTLE MERMAID and MARY POPPINS. The Disney Corporation introduced several generations of children to the animated film musical.
But today, they are introducing a whole new generation of youngsters to the musical (not on film screens) but on the stages of legitimate Broadway theatres. Shows like BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and ALADDIN are thrilling young audiences nightly…and (as always) every Disney show is tuneful and entertaining enough to please the adults in the audience as well. Celebrate with us almost nine decades of great songs, from “When You Wish Upon a Star” to “Let It Go.”
