6th Annual Playhouse Playwrights Festival of New Plays 
*SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN*

*Deadline for submission: April 30, 2025.

 Submissions begin March 1 and end on April 30, 2025. 

Finalists will be announced on May 5th, 2025 via email. 

Auditions will be held May 7 & 8 from 6pm- 10pm, at the playhouse.

Rehearsals will be in June 2025. 

Performances: June 21 & 22, 2025

 

PROJECT GUIDELINES:

Seeking:

  • 10-minute to (not more than) 20-minute one-act plays, not previously produced or published, from LOCAL* Playwrights. 
  • One page of dialogue equals one minute of run-time.
  • There is a non-refundable $25 donation fee.
  • The Playhouse is a 501(3)(c) non-profit, and all fees collected will go towards the audition expenses, production and several mixers for Playwrights, cast and crew.
  • Scripts will be judged on concept, dramatic action, characterization and cast size.

Submissions:

  • Please complete the Application form linked below, and include a brief synopsis.
  • Submissions should be Microsoft Word .doc/.docx not PDF.
  • Each page of your script must include your name, title of play and page number in the footer.
  • Stage plays only. No TV or film scripts will be considered.
  • 2-6 actors in total.
  • Please no musicals or choreography
  • No sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, obscene scripts or excessive foul language.
  • Playwrights must attend rehearsals at the Delray Beach Playhouse.
  • *Playwrights must be LOCAL residents and must attend auditions/casting, rehearsals and performances for their plays at the Delray Beach Playhouse. Playwrights must provide a full-time LOCAL home address

Submissions are due by April 30, 2025.

  • Option 1:  Mail the $25 non-refundable donation fee (per submission) to: Delray Beach Playhouse, 950 NW 9th St., Delray Beach FL 33444, ATTN: Playhouse Playwrights’ Project.
    OR
  • Option 2: Mail play submission, along with the $25 non-refundable donation fee (per submission) to: Delray Beach Playhouse, 950 NW 9th St., Delray Beach FL 33444, ATTN: Playhouse Playwrights’ Project.
  • Paper copies will not be returned.
