In Hollywood he wrote some of the most popular songs of World War II, including “I’ll Walk Alone” and “I’ve Heard That Song Before.” For Broadway, he wrote one smash hit show after another, including GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES (“Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”), HIGH BUTTON SHOES (“Papa, Won’t You Dance With Me?”), FUNNY GIRL (“People”), BELLS ARE RINGING (“Just in Time”), DO RE MI (“Make Someone Happy)” and GYPSY (“Everything’s Coming Up Roses’).
