Kevin Barrett – Executive Director

Kevin is a 30-year veteran arts administration executive who has managed multiple performing arts centers in Massachusetts and Florida during a highly successful career to date. Some of the venues he’s managed include Springfield Symphony Hall, Springfield Civic Center, Coral Springs Center for the Arts, our very own, Delray Beach Playhouse, and the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center. 

Ben Witte - Box Office Director

Ben Witte – Box Office Director

Ben has been working at the Delray Beach Playhouse for three years as the Box Office Director and he also specializes in all of our video editing. His hobbies include playing piano, renovating his home, and spending time with his family. A fun fact about Ben is that he is an avid foodie! He can even eat two whole subs in one sitting! His favorite show at the Playhouse was California Suite.

Christian Taylor – Tech Director

With a lifelong fascination for theatre and the arts, Christian’s journey into the world of production began early on. From his formative years, Christian honed his skills and discovered a fervor for the technical intricacies of show production, landing him a position as Shop Manager and Assistant Technical Director at Broward College. His expertise in Lighting and Audio, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning, made him an invaluable asset as Lauderhill Performing Arts Center Technical Director. Christian is thrilled to embark on a new chapter working as the Technical Director for The Playhouse!

 

Bridget Callinan - Programming and Event Coordinator

Bridget Callinan – Marketing Director

Bridget joined our staff in February 2021. Bridget is passionate about the theater industry, where she specializes in helping bring entertainment to our audience members through strategic marketing and creative advertising. She pushes the creative bounds of traditional promotion to help establish and support the arts and The Playhouse. Her favorite thing about her job is watching the seats fill up before a show with excited audience members!

Jessie Dez

Jessie Dez – Education & Communications Director

Jessie is an actress, singer, model & graduate from Palm Beach Atlantic University where she obtained her Bachelors with concentrations in Musical Theatre and Broadcast Journalism. Jessie has performed all over South Florida with well-known companies. She is prepared to teach her students the fundamental skills needed to feel prepared and confident in a theater environment. As a former Miss Palm Beach County 2019 for the Miss America Foundation, Jessie has experience mentoring younger kids through the Sunshine Princess Program.

Jeff Davis – Master Carpenter

Jeff has performed numerous production positions at various theaters around the country over the last three decades. Finding a home at the Delray Beach Playhouse has been a terrific opportunity. Some of his favorite productions include: Phantom of the Opera; The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Abridged; Arsenic & Old Lace; and The Immigrant. In his spare time, Jeff loves to cook for his family.
 

Rachel Jones – Administrative Coordinator

Rachel Jones was hired in 2022 and is delighted to work with everyone at The Playhouse! With a music degree from Elon University, she has worked in and around the performing arts for decades. As a performer, she has worked with The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol, Athens Theatre, CFCArts, BARCLAY Performing Arts, Ben Folds and the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon, and much more. She excels in a variety of administrative, marketing, and leadership positions. As a former Literary Manager, she is passionate about scripts and storytelling; with her work in marketing she helps ensure all Playbills, Marketing Emails, and more are fun and informative!

Patricia Wakely Wolf – House Manager

Patricia Wakely Wolf has been produced and featured at Manhattan Theatre Club, Group Repertory Theatre, Kennedy Center’s Page-to-Stage, One-Minute Play Festival, and Pinky Swear Productions, DC. She is also a member of The Dramatists Guild, South Florida Theatre League, Palm Beach Writers Group, and Stage 32. And, she is a Board Member for Shakespeare Troupe Inc. and the Foundation for Women’s Cultural and Economic Literacy.

Stevie Bleich- Lighting Designer

Stevie Bleich graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Technology, specializing in lighting. She has experience working behind the scenes as a lighting designer, lighting assistant, board operator and much more for numerous theaters in the South Florida region!  Her expertise extends beyond the technical aspects, as she brings creativity and innovation to every project she undertakes using her versatile skillset.

Elizabeth Guerra- Assistant Production Manager 

Elizabeth Guerra is a theatre artist based in South Florida, originally from Havana, Cuba. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Spanish Literature from Florida State University, where she focused on performance, directing, and writing. She has trained and worked as a theatre artist in Florida, New York City, and London, where she earned a Stage Combat certification from the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. She is dedicated to bringing high-quality theatre to South Florida, aiming to enrich the local cultural landscape and engage the community through powerful and high-quality performances. Throughout her career, Elizabeth has built a diverse portfolio as a performer, educator, director, and production manager. Her recent credits include West Side Story, Mean Girls, Matilda, Into the Woods, RENT, and more. Her work is marked by a commitment to artistic excellence and engaging storytelling.  Driven by a passion for captivating and inspiring audiences, Elizabeth aims to make a meaningful impact on both the local theatre scene and her fellow artists. Her efforts are focused on bringing compelling narratives and dynamic performances to the stage, fostering a deeper connection with the community and enriching the cultural experience for all. She is looking forward to joining the Pompano Players team to continue contributing to the South Florida theatre community and its growth. 

 

Eszter Gyarfas – Box Office Representative

Eszter Gyarfas was born and raised in Hungary and has a background in music and event management. With more than 15 years of international experience, including various positions in Vienna, Austria, she relocated to the United States in 2019. She has worked in different theaters and previously served as a box office supervisor at the Kravis Center.  She is thrilled to be back at her beloved DBP as a full time employee. In her free time, Eszter enjoys playing the piano and taking care of her two adorable dogs.

Tyler Smith – Box Office Representative

Tyler Smith is a recent FAU graduate who loves spending his free time writing and producing music. He grew up in the South Florida area, and is a huge fan of the beach and anything nature related. His favorite place that he’s traveled so far is Colorado, and he’s the proud owner of 2 cats.
