One event on October 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm

Come support “How a Play is Developed” at our two-day Playhouse Playwrights Festival, October 26th and 27th! Eight original, one-act plays will be performed as a table reading, with character actors, as well as the director…Come enjoy the experience of watching the first step in the development of a full play production!

The Delray Beach Playhouse introduced its inaugural Playhouse Playwrights’ Project earlier this year, a new outreach program for local playwrights. The Delray Beach Playhouse search committee invited local playwrights to submit original, non-published or produced, one-act plays with a run time of 20-40 minutes. Depending on their length, 3-4 selections were chosen, and a Playhouse director was assigned to cast and rehearse these plays with Playhouse volunteer actors and staff.

We promise; you want to be here at the Playhouse to enjoy this event of staged readings of these original, new works!
