Set in St. Louis in 1986, GOOD JEW follows Holocaust survivor Henryk Altman — now simply “Henry” — as he records his extraordinary life story from the comfort of his den. Forced to hide his identity and make impossible choices, Henry survives the Holocaust by navigating a world of danger with quick thinking, false papers, and sheer luck.

With wit, charm, and remarkable resilience, Henry recounts his incredible journey of survival — from escaping the Warsaw Ghetto and breaking free from Treblinka (twice!) to smuggling goods, joining the Resistance, and outwitting the SS across Poland, Russia, Denmark, and war-torn Berlin. After the war, he builds a new life in America — raising a family while never forgetting the past that shaped him.
